Verses with "gold, silver, brass, iron
Dan 2 Recap:
Nebuchadnezzar has dream and is troubled
Can't remember a dream. Calls wisemen in
Either tell him dream and interpretation or will cut in pieces and make dunghill
They tell him that this is unreasonable and are unable
King is furious so decree given to kill wisemen
Daniel finds out via Arioch and tries to schedule time to tell king the interpretation.
Daniel tells friends and they pray for wisdom.
He is given the dream/interpretation via vision.
Goes in and tells king that his was given dream and interpretation from God. Gives a lot credit to God
Dream
Dream is "what shall be in the LATTER DAYS"
Image
Head of gold
Breast and arms of silver
Belly and thighs of brass
Legs of iron (prob lower legs)
Feet are part iron, part clay
Stone cut w/o hands strikes the feet of iron and clay
Breaks the feet
Then iron, clay, brass, silver and gold break too
They become like chaff of the summer threshing floor
Wind carries them away, no place found for them
Interpretation that Dan gives
Gold - head, Nebuchadnezzar (or Babylon)
Silver - breast and arms, lesser kingdom ?
Brass - belly and thighs, even lesser kingdom ?
Iron - lower leg, even lesser kingdom in value?
-Breaks in pieces and subdues
-Breaks in pieces and crushed
Iron/Potters clay - toes, even lesser value ?
-Mixture, Part iron, part Potters clay/miry clay
-Divided kingdom, Partly strong/partly broken
-Shall mix, but shall not adhering to each other. Shall mix themselves with the seed of men
What could this represent?
Nations including Babylon that ruled that area of the world? Babylon, Medio-Persians, Greece, Rome
God temporarily giving over HIS kingdom on earth to Babylon?
Unknown plan of God

Jericho

Jos 6:24
And they burnt the city with fire, and all that was therein; only the silver, and the gold, and the vessels of brass and of iron, they put into the treasury of the house of Jehovah.
***Seems the gold, silver, brass and iron from Jericho had to withstand the fire (purified), then goes into the treasury of the Lord.
This is what cause me to wonder:
Dan 2:35
Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken in pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshing-floors; and the wind carried them away, so that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.
*Why were gold silver brass and gold in Jericho burnt and then deemed valuable?
If Joshua represents Jesus, and He comes again to His church "it's moon" who aren't ready, and only Rahab was delivered AND then burned w fire, how could anything of value remain?
Spoils of war divided among brothers
Jos 22:8 (7-8)

David commands Solomon to build the temple with gold, silver, brass and iron. David says with much affliction he has provided gold, silver, brass and iron for the house of God.
**So David gets the gold, silver, brass and iron, purges it thru fire, and command his son Solomon to use it for the temple?
**In the NT, we are the blocks that Jesus (who goes to prepare a place for us) uses to built his temple. I'm surprised David would use the enemy's gold, silver, brass and iron to be used in his house….
***Are we all enemies of God till Jesus?
Rom 5:10
For if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, shall we be saved by his life;
David prepared with his might..
Remember: Think parable. Think David as God the Father & Solomon as Jesus the son.
Jesus says
Joh 14:2b
In my Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you.

2Ch 2:14
the son of a woman of the daughters of Dan; and his father was a man of Tyre, skilful to work in gold, and in silver, in brass, in iron, in stone, and in timber, in purple, in blue, and in fine linen, and in crimson, also to grave any manner of graving, and to devise any device; that there may be a place appointed unto him with thy skilful men, and with the skilful men of my lord David thy father.
Metaphor of Solomon building the natural temple of God, just like Jesus does in the NT.
Why does Solomon ask Hiram of Tyre to send skilled to working gold, silver, brass and iron? Esp a person of Dan. Or one of Tyre?

**Have vs 1-3 occured yet?
Isa 60:17
For brass I will bring gold, and for iron I will bring silver, and for wood brass, and for stones iron. I will also make thy officers peace, and thine exactors righteousness.
***Here the brass (3) is moved up to gold (1) AND iron (4) is moved up to silver (2).
Why?
Does it imply that lesser metals are made more valuable by God in this chapter?
When is this?
