Two witnesses in Matt 17

 Pattern in NT:

Jesus comes

- told disciples to wait for HS in Acts 1:8 who empowers

HS

-comes to us as the rain as the later rain - Hos 6:3

-early and later rain - James 5:7

Witnesses

Mat 17:1-2

1 And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into a high mountain apart: 2 and he was transfigured before them; and his face did shine as the sun, and his garments became white as the light.

-note the time frame. "After six days"

-spiritually My Zion?

-note who he reveals himself to: Peter, James & John. Why?

-closest to Jesus

-maybe they represent the ones in Heb 9:28 who are looking for Jesus?

G3339 metamorphoō

-to change into another form, to transform, to transfigure

 Rom 12:2

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed G3339 by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

2Co 3:18

But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are transformed G3339 into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

Matt 17:3

3 And behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elijah talking with him.

-talking w Jesus? -converse, communing…

Rev 11:6

These have the power to shut the heaven, that it rain not during the days of their prophecy: and they have power over the waters to turn them into blood, and to smite the earth with every plague, as often as they shall desire.

Matt 17:4

4 And Peter answered, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, I will make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah.

-tabernacles - tents, temporary shelter

-maybe Peter wished to detain them?

-maybe a symbolic nod to Feast of Booths/7 Days?

Matt 17:5

5 While he was yet speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold, a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.

-Why a cloud?

Rev 1:7a

Behold, he (Jesus) cometh with the clouds…

Why?

Act 1:9-11

9 And when he had said these things, as they were looking, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. 10 And while they were looking stedfastly into heaven as he went, behold two men stood by them in white apparel; 11 who also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye looking into heaven? this Jesus, who was received up from you into heaven shall so come in like manner as ye beheld him going into heaven.

Heb 12:1

Therefore let us also, seeing we are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

Rev 22:12

Behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to render to each man according as his work is.

Pro 25:14

As clouds and wind without rain, So is he that boasteth himself of his gifts falsely.

1Ki 18:44-45

44 And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there ariseth a cloud out of the sea, as small as a man's hand. And he said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Make ready thy chariot, and get thee down, that the rain stop thee not. 45 And it came to pass in a little while, that the heavens grew black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel:

Cloud OVERSHADOWED them…

-episkiazō - to throw a shadow upon, to envelop in a shadow, to

Luk 9:34

And while he said these things, there came a cloud, and overshadowed them: and they feared as they entered into the cloud.

Mar 9:7

And there came a cloud overshadowing them: and there came a voice out of the cloud, This is my beloved Son: hear ye him.

Luk 1:35

And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Spirit shall come upon thee, and the power of the Most High shall overshadow thee: wherefore also the holy thing which is begotten shall be called the Son of God.

Act 5:15

insomuch that they even carried out the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that, as Peter came by, at the least his shadow might overshadow some one of them.

***Cloud seems to be a picture of the great annointing of God's people (via the HS) (rain/later rain) on day 3/7 or "last day" orr the "great day of the feast" mentioned in John 7:37.

Is the voice out of the cloud the Holy Spirit? Maybe??

Mat 17:5

While he was yet speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold, a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.

Luk 3:22

and the Holy Spirit descended in a bodily form, as a dove, upon him, and a voice came out of heaven, Thou art my beloved Son: in thee I am well pleased.

Joh 7:37-39

37 Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink. 38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, from within him shall flow rivers of living water. 39 But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believed on him were to receive: for the Spirit was not yet given; because Jesus was not yet glorified.

Joh 15:26

But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall bear witness of me:

Matt 17:6

6 And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were sore afraid.

-Fear seems to grip the disciples when these events occur.

-This is a new manifestation of Jesus that scares them

Matt 17:7-9

7 And Jesus came and touched them and said, Arise, and be not afraid. 8 And lifting up their eyes, they saw no one, save Jesus only. 9 And as they were coming down from the mountain, Jesus commanded them, saying, Tell the vision to no man, until the Son of man be risen from the dead.

-After 6th day, Jesus appearance is changed. The disciples are afraid. Moses and Elijah seem to be there, at least for a time. He, the voice of the father (HS) pointing to Jesus.

-Altho Moses and Elijah appear on day 7, it's all about Jesus

Matt 17:10-13

10 And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the scribes that Elijah must first come? 11 And he answered and said, Elijah indeed cometh, and shall restore all things: 12 but I say unto you, that Elijah is come already, and they knew him not, but did unto him whatsoever they would. Even so shall the Son of man also suffer of them. 13 Then understood the disciples that he spake unto them of John the Baptist.

-Wonder why didn't they ask about Moses??

-Elijah indeed cometh…

-Elijah already came...as John the Baptist

-How? Luke 1:17; in spirit and power of Elijah

Joh 1:21

And they asked him( John), What then? Art thou Elijah? And he saith, I am not. Art thou the prophet? And he answered, No.

*John didn't realize he was Elijah. Altho Jesus said he was "Elijah"

Jesus says:

Mat 11:13-14

13 For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John. 14 And if ye are willing to receive it, this is Elijah, that is to come. 15 He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Mal 3:1-3

1 Behold, I send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, will suddenly come to his temple; and the messenger of the covenant, whom ye desire, behold, he cometh, saith Jehovah of hosts. 2 But who can abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap: 3 and he will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver, and he will purify the sons of Levi, and refine them as gold and silver; and they shall offer unto Jehovah offerings in righteousness.

Mal 4:1-2

1 For, behold, the day cometh, it burneth as a furnace; and all the proud, and all that work wickedness, shall be stubble; and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith Jehovah of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. 2 But unto you that fear my name shall the sun of righteousness arise with healing in its wings; and ye shall go forth, and gambol as calves of the stall.

***Day 3/7 - flesh is burned off

Day 3/7 - "sun" arises in eastern gate of inner chamber

Two witnesses 1

 Two Witnesses

Recap previous weeks:

After 2 days ( 2000 years after Jesus) (or after 6 days) these things are prophecized to occur on the MORNING of the third day(or 7th day).

-revive and raise us up

-flesh is burnt off (dead body)

-somehow we lay down works of the flesh in/on the 7th day

-seems to be for those looking for him

-Esther put on royal apparel on 7th day

-eastern gate in INNER court is opened (Eze 46:1) is opened on 7th day

-Ark of covenent goes across Jordan about 2000 cubits in front of everyone else. Signifying that we follow example about 2000 years after He did.

Josh 6 - Another pattern of the 7 days and a mini book of Revelation:

Jericho - it's moon, God's people

Joshua/Ark = Jesus

1 day = 1000 years

Joshua 6:1-5

1 Now Jericho was straitly shut up because of the children of Israel: none went out, and none came in. 2 And Jehovah said unto Joshua, See, I have given into thy hand Jericho, and the king thereof, and the mighty men of valor. 3 And ye shall compass the city, all the men of war, going about the city once. Thus shalt thou do six days. 4 And seven priests shall bear seven trumpets of rams' horns before the ark: and the seventh day ye shall compass the city seven times, and the priests shall blow the trumpets. 5 And it shall be, that, when they make a long blast with the ram's horn, and when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall go up every man straight before him.

-march around city once each day for 6 days

-7th day, go around city 7x's

-does the 7x's on day 7 represent tribulation?

-on 7th day after 7 trips around city, people shout, walls fall

*7th day - big event happens

Joshua 6:6-10

6 And Joshua the son of Nun called the priests, and said unto them, Take up the ark of the covenant, and let seven priests bear seven trumpets of rams' horns before the ark of Jehovah. 7 And they said unto the people, Pass on, and compass the city, and let the armed men pass on before the ark of Jehovah. 8 And it was so, that, when Joshua had spoken unto the people, the seven priests bearing the seven trumpets of rams' horns before Jehovah passed on, and blew the trumpets: and the ark of the covenant of Jehovah followed them. 9 And the armed men went before the priests that blew the trumpets, and the rearward went after the ark, the priests blowing the trumpets as they went. 10 And Joshua commanded the people, saying, Ye shall not shout, nor let your voice be heard, neither shall any word proceed out of your mouth, until the day I bid you shout; then shall ye shout.

-Joshua/Jesus calls the shots

*What does the city represent?*

-flesh, Babylon, building the kingdom of God w human understanding?

Joshua 6:11-19

11 So he caused the ark of Jehovah to compass the city, going about it once: and they came into the camp, and lodged in the camp. 12 And Joshua rose early in the morning, and the priests took up the ark of Jehovah. 13 And the seven priests bearing the seven trumpets of rams' horns before the ark of Jehovah went on continually, and blew the trumpets: and the armed men went before them; and the rearward came after the ark of Jehovah, the priests blowing the trumpets as they went. 14 And the second day they compassed the city once, and returned into the camp: so they did six days. 15 And it came to pass on the seventh day, that they rose early at the dawning of the day, and compassed the city after the same manner seven times: only on the day they compassed the city seven times. 16 And it came to pass at the seventh time, when the priests blew the trumpets, Joshua said unto the people, Shout; for Jehovah hath given you the city.

17 And the city shall be devoted (accursed/devoted to destruction), even it and all that is therein, to Jehovah: only Rahab the harlot shall live, she and all that are with her in the house, because she hid the messengers that we sent. 18 But as for you, only keep yourselves from the devoted (accursed) thing, lest when ye have devoted it, ye take of the devoted thing; so would ye make the camp of Israel accursed, and trouble it. 19 But all the silver, and gold, and vessels of brass and iron, are holy unto Jehovah: they shall come into the treasury of Jehovah.

-gold, silver, bronze, iron are valuable

-devoted thing?

Joshua 6:20-21

20 So the people shouted, and the priests blew the trumpets; and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, that the people shouted with a great shout, and the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city. 21 And they utterly destroyed all that was in the city, both man and woman, both young and old, and ox, and sheep, and ass, with the edge of the sword.

Why use the sword?

Joshua 6:22-24

22 And Joshua said unto the two men that had spied out the land, Go into the harlot's house, and bring out thence the woman, and all that she hath, as ye sware unto her. 23 And the young men the spies went in, and brought out Rahab, and her father, and her mother, and her brethren, and all that she had; all her kindred also they brought out; and they set them without the camp of Israel. 24 And they burnt the city with fire, and all that was therein; only the silver, and the gold, and the vessels of brass and of iron, they put into the treasury of the house of Jehovah.

-1Th 4:16

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven, with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first;

-city is burned. What city is burned in Rev? Rev 18:2;8

Joshua 6:25-26

25 But Rahab the harlot, and her father's household, and all that she had, did Joshua save alive; and she dwelt in the midst of Israel unto this day, because she hid the messengers, whom Joshua sent to spy out Jericho. 26 And Joshua charged them with an oath at that time, saying, Cursed be the man before Jehovah, that riseth up and buildeth this city Jericho: with the loss of his first-born shall he lay the foundation thereof, and with the loss of his youngest son shall he set up the gates of it.

-why is the man who rebuilds the city accursed? He would be rebuilding Babylon.

Two spies sent ahead to Jericho (it's moon) to spy it out. They also go in to take out Rahab, the harlot, making sure she is saved after the walls are down.

***Pattern seems to be that Jesus (Joshua) in NT sends his witnesses to his people (it's moon).

Rev 11 refers to two witnesses

Rev 11:1-13

1 And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and one said, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein. 2 And the court which is without the temple leave without, and measure it not; for it hath been given unto the nations: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months. 3 And I will give unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.

***Why sackcloth?

4 These are the two olive trees and the two candlesticks, standing before the Lord of the earth. 5 And if any man desireth to hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth and devoureth their enemies; and if any man shall desire to hurt them, in this manner must he be killed. 6 These have the power to shut the heaven, that it rain not during the days of their prophecy: and they have power over the waters to turn them into blood, and to smite the earth with every plague, as often as they shall desire.

Who has these powers?

Elijah 1Kings 17:1

Moses Ex 7:19

1 kings 18:38

7 And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that cometh up out of the abyss shall make war with them, and overcome them, and kill them. 8 And their dead bodies lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified. 9 And from among the peoples and tribes and tongues and nations do men look upon their dead bodies three days and a half, and suffer not their dead bodies to be laid in a tomb. 10 And they that dwell on the earth rejoice over them, and make merry; and they shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwell on the earth. 11 And after the three days and a half the breath of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them that beheld them. 12 And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they went up into heaven in the cloud; and their enemies beheld them. 13 And in that hour there was a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell; and there were killed in the earthquake seven thousand persons: and the rest were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.

***What happens to them?***

Two witnesses framework in NT

Joshua 3:3-4 sets the pattern.

First Ark/Jesus

We follow 2000 cubits behind the ark/Jesus (about 2000 years)

In NT Disciples are called witnesses

Witness in NT is H3144 - 'martus' - witness, martyr

Act 1:8

But ye shall receive power, when the Holy Spirit is come upon you: and ye shall be my witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judæa and Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Luk 24:48-49

Ye are witnesses of these things. 49 And behold, I send forth the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city, until ye be clothed with power from on high.

***They were witnesses before the HS but impowered after the HS***

Act 10:40-41

40 Him God raised up the third day, and gave him to be made manifest, 41 not to all the people, but unto witnesses that were chosen before of God, even to us, who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead.

Why two?

Deu 19:15

One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sinneth: at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall a matter be established.

Mat 18:16

But if he hear thee not, take with thee one or two more, that at the mouth of two witnesses or three every word may be established.

Jesus is also a labeled as a 'witness'

Rev 1:5

and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loveth us, and loosed us from our sins by his blood;

Rev 3:14

And to the angel of the church in Laodicea write: These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God:

Jesus sets the pattern. Ecc 3:9

First Jesus (true witness) - HS - Then his witnesses.

---2000 cubits---

What about his witnesses in our day??

Holy Spirit in our day!!

Hos 6:1-3

1 Come, and let us return unto Jehovah; for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up. 2 After two days will he revive us: on the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live before him. 3 And let us know, let us follow on to know Jehovah: his going forth is sure as the morning; and he will come unto us as the rain, as the latter rain that watereth the earth.

Jas 5:7

Be patient therefore, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient over it, until it receive the early and latter rain.

Day1 Day2 Day3 Day4 Day5 Day6 Day7    **God's 7000 Days**

                     So...         Day1 Day2 Day3   **Jesus' 3 Days**

Riddle 1

Lev 7:17-18

17 but that which remaineth of the flesh of the sacrifice on the third day shall be burnt with fire. 18 And if any of the flesh of the sacrifice of his peace-offerings be eaten on the third day, it shall not be accepted, neither shall it be imputed unto him that offereth it: it shall be an abomination, and the soul that eateth of it shall bear his iniquity.

Glory be to God. Yes, whatever you are battling with still today of the flesh, will be burnt away on the third day.

The saints are about to enter into a new and wonderful freedom that is void of the flesh. The tribulation is going to burn all that away, that is still keeping God's people in bondage. Praise God !

Riddle 2

Num 19:11-12

11 He that toucheth the dead body of any man shall be unclean seven days: 12 the same shall purify himself therewith on the third day, and on the seventh day he shall be clean: but if he purify not himself the third day, then the seventh day he shall not be clean.

This simply means that we are not to return to our old sins. Our "dead body" (our old sinful nature) must not be touched again. He is to stay in the grave (baptism)

We need to be sanctified. Live holy lives and lay down the works of the flesh. We must be clean on the third day of His coming. He must not find you "touching the dead man"

Riddle 3

Eze 46:1

Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: The gate of the inner court that looketh toward the east shall be shut the six working days; but on the sabbath day it shall be opened, and on the day of the new moon it shall be opened.

-gate of the inner court that looketh to the east (rising of the sun) shall be shut six days, but on sabbath (7th day) it shall be opened

-new moon is when the moon does not give it's light. But it slowly increases unto full moon

Riddle #4

Est 5:1

Now it came to pass on the third day, that Esther put on her royal apparel, and stood in the inner court of the king's house, over against the king's house: and the king sat upon his royal throne in the royal house, over against the entrance of the house.

Last week….

  1. 7 Days of God

  2. Read John 7. Jesus goes to 7 day feast of Tabernacles secretly till midpoint then goes to Mt of Olives.

  3. Remember Jesus is hidden ALL over the OT

New

Heb 9:28

so Christ also, having been once offered to bear the sins of many, shall appear a second time, apart from sin, to them that wait for him, unto salvation.

Hos 6:2

After two days (six days) will he revive us: on the third day (seventh day) he will raise us up, and we shall live before him.

After 2 days ( two thousand years after Jesus) and this will happen on the MORNING of the third day.

-revive and raise us up

-flesh is burnt off (dead body)

-somehow we lay down works of the flesh in/on the 7th day

-seems to be for those looking for him

-put on royal apparel

Luk 13:21

It is like unto leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal, till it was all leavened.

***We know the Kingdom of God becomes all leavened. Unless Jesus revives us, we remain leavened!

Heb 4:8

For if Joshua had given them rest, he would not have spoken afterward of another day.

*Maybe we can see some Joshua/Jesus parables in book of Joshua???

Joshua/Jesus Parable

Jos 1:1-11

1 Now it came to pass after the death of Moses the servant of Jehovah, that Jehovah spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' minister, saying, 2 Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel. 3 Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, to you have I given it, as I spake unto Moses.

6 Be strong and of good courage; for thou shalt cause this people to inherit the land which I sware unto their fathers to give them. 7 Only be strong and very courageous, to observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest have good success whithersoever thou goest. 8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth, but thou shalt meditate thereon day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of good courage; be not affrighted, neither be thou dismayed: for Jehovah thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. 10 Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying, 11 Pass through the midst of the camp, and command the people, saying, Prepare you victuals; for within three days ye are to pass over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land, which Jehovah your God giveth you to possess it.

-within 3 days

-pass over Jordan

-possess the land

A different parable

Jos 2:1

1 And Joshua the son of Nun sent out of Shittim two men as spies secretly, saying, Go, view the land, and Jericho. And they went and came into the house of a harlot whose name was Rahab, and lay there.

-Jericho means 'its moon' (Rev 12?)

-Rahab means 'wide' or 'broad'

***Notice Rahab is a harlot!!! (think: 'all leavened')

-Mat 7:13 Enter ye in by the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many are they that enter in thereby.

Jos 2:2-3

2 And it was told the king of Jericho, saying, Behold, there came men in hither to-night of the children of Israel to search out the land. 3 And the king of Jericho sent unto Rahab, saying, Bring forth the men that are come to thee, that are entered into thy house; for they are come to search out all the land.

**Joshua/Jesus sends his two witnesses into "it's moon" (his leavened harloted people). Similar to Rev 11:3.

Jos 2:3-6

3 And the king of Jericho sent unto Rahab, saying, Bring forth the men that are come to thee, that are entered into thy house; for they are come to search out all the land. 4 And the woman took the two men, and hid them; and she said, Yea, the men came unto me, but I knew not whence they were: 5 and it came to pass about the time of the shutting of the gate, when it was dark, that the men went out; whither the men went I know not: pursue after them quickly; for ye will overtake them.

-This occurs about the time of the "shutting of the gate when it was dark".

-1Th 5:7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that are drunken are drunken in the night.

-maybe dark because it's almost a new moon???

6 But she had brought them up to the roof, and hid them with the stalks (branches) of flax (pulverized tree material used to make linen), which she had laid in order upon the roof.

Roof

-Mat 24:17 let him that is on the housetop (roof) not go down to take out the things that are in his house:

Stalks/Branches

-They think they are gone but are hidden in stalks (branches) of flax.

-Mat 24:32 Now from the fig tree learn her parable: when her branch is now become tender, and putteth forth its leaves, ye know that the summer is nigh;

***THESE (that are hidden on the roof, in "my moon") ARE THOSE HIDDEN IN HEBREWS 9:28***

-Heb 9:28 so Christ also, having been once offered to bear the sins of many, shall appear a second time, apart from sin, to them that wait for him, unto salvation.

Note this verse:

Eze 40:3-4

And he brought me thither; and, behold, there was a man, whose appearance was like the appearance of brass, with a line of flax in his hand, and a measuring reed; and he stood in the gate. 4 And the man said unto me, Son of man, behold with thine eyes, and hear with thine ears, and set thy heart upon all that I shall show thee; for, to the intent that I may show them unto thee, art thou brought hither: declare all that thou seest to the house of Israel.

Jos 2:7-11

7 And the men pursued after them the way to the Jordan unto the fords: and as soon as they that pursued after them were gone out, they shut the gate. 8 And before they were laid down, she came up unto them upon the roof; 9 and she said unto the men, I know that Jehovah hath given you the land, and that the fear of you is fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land melt away before you. 10 For we have heard how Jehovah dried up the water of the Red Sea before you, when ye came out of Egypt; and what ye did unto the two kings of the Amorites, that were beyond the Jordan, unto Sihon and to Og, whom ye utterly destroyed. 11 And as soon as we had heard it, our hearts did melt, neither did there remain any more spirit in any man, because of you: for Jehovah your God, he is God in heaven above, and on earth beneath.

Notice:

-Great influence over a portion of God's people

-Their influence was greatly feared.

-Like the two witness ministry in Rev 11:3-11

-Rev 11:10 And they that dwell on the earth rejoice over them, and make merry; and they shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwell on the earth.

-In this parable, they are unable to kill the witnesses like they do in Rev 11

Jos 2:12-15

12 Now therefore, I pray you, swear unto me by Jehovah, since I have dealt kindly with you, that ye also will deal kindly with my father's house, and give me a true token; 13 and that ye will save alive my father, and my mother, and my brethren, and my sisters, and all that they have, and will deliver our lives from death. 14 And the men said unto her, Our life for yours, if ye utter not this our business; and it shall be, when Jehovah giveth us the land, that we will deal kindly and truly with thee.

-Now a portion of "it's moon" now are looking for the coming of Joshua/Jesus

A third parable in Joshua

Jos 3:1-7

1 And Joshua rose up early in the morning; and they removed from Shittim, and came to the Jordan, he and all the children of Israel; and they lodged there before they passed over. 2 And it came to pass after three days, that the officers went through the midst of the camp;

Remember Jos 1:11

Pass through the midst of the camp, and command the people, saying, Prepare you victuals; for within three days ye are to pass over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land, which Jehovah your God giveth you to possess it.

Jos 3:3-4

3 and they commanded the people, saying, When ye see the ark of the covenant of Jehovah your God, and the priests the Levites bearing it, then ye shall remove from your place, and go after it. 4 Yet there shall be a space between you and it, about two thousand cubits by measure: come not near unto it, that ye may know the way by which ye must go; for ye have not passed this way heretofore.

-Ark of covenant is symbolic of Jesus, as is Joshua. Remember in John 7 when Jesus went to the Feast of Tabernacles and was hidden the first of the feast, but was there.

-space btw you and ark of covenant of about 2000 cubits...think about 2000 years before crossing over the Jordan and entering the promise land on the 3rd or 7th day

5 And Joshua said unto the people, Sanctify yourselves; for to-morrow Jehovah will do wonders among you. 6 And Joshua spake unto the priests, saying, Take up the ark of the covenant, and pass over before the people. And they took up the ark of the covenant, and went before the people. 7 And Jehovah said unto Joshua, This day will I begin to magnify thee in the sight of all Israel, that they may know that, as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee.

On the 3rd day, God magnifies Jesus in the sight of Israel. Just like John 7:37-38

Joh 7:37-38

37 Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink. 38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, from within him shall flow rivers of living water.

Confessions of A Broken Spirit, A Broken and A Contrite Heart

Confessionso of A Broken Spirit, A Broken and A Contrite Heart      Psalm51:17

Father in heaven, the greatest honor in my life is the pleasure of being in Your presence. As I come before Your throne of grace, I enter into Your “gates with thanksgiving and into Your courts with praise.” By Your grace, I “have been saved through faith” in Your Son, Jesus Christ. It is Your precious “gift,” giving me the wonderful and awesome privilege to come before You, to speak with You. Ps 100:4, Eph 2:8

Sometimes, when I stop to think about it, I feel overwhelmed that You would permit me to enter into Your presence before Your holy throne of righteousness. You are the Creator of all things that exist, whether in heaven, throughout the universe or here on earth. It makes me wonder, “Who am I, that You would even care about anything I have to say?” But, as soon as the question enters my mind, the answer comes quickly back to me. “For God so loved the world” and that includes me. Wow! Your grace is truly amazing and overwhelming. Thank You, my Lord. Jn 3:16

Being with You, Heavenly Father, is where I feel safe, protected from the evils and ugliness in this world. You have accepted me not because of who I am or what I have accomplished, but because of who You are, a loving Father. Nothing on earth provides the blessing of real peace that I always experience when I am with You, and “every fountain of delight springs up from Your life within me.” I never want to leave Your presence. Being with You, feeling close to You is where I want to be for all of eternity, but there is a deeper, more intimate relationship with You that You have made possible for me. “As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for You, O God. My soul thirsts for” You, “for the living God.” Ps 87:7TPT, Ps 42:2

I want to draw closer to You, Heavenly Father, and do not want my “iniquities” to separate me from You or my “sins” to hide Your face from me, so that You “will not hear.” I confess my sins, sometimes several times a day, because I know You are “faithful and just to forgive” my sins and will “cleanse” me “from all unrighteousness.” Your word assures me that I am forgiven, but it doesn't seem to be enough. Something is missing in our communion, and our fellowship seems limited. It's like You are in some other place away from me, where I cannot reach You, and I don't know where to look to find You. Father, why is there such a distance between us? I know You have not left me, but where and when did I leave You? I want to “draw near to” You, so You “will draw near to” me, and I want to know my Lord Jesus Christ. Isaiah 59:2, 1 Jn 1:9, James 4:8

Heavenly Father, I want to know the heart of my Lord. I want to know His concerns, how He feels, what He thinks, and what He wants for His creation. I want to know how He would help people and how He would minister to them if He could be here in my place, and I want to know how He sees me. I want to know what needs to change in my life, the corrections I need to make, and what I must do to draw closer to Him. I long for the joy of knowing Him, to really know Him. To embrace the blessing of perfect intimacy with Him and to be in harmony with the loving rhythm of His heart are my greatest desires. Heavenly Father, I trust You to show me how to “seek” You and “find” You, when I “search” for You with all my heart. You promised that You “will be found.” You said I can find You because I am searching for You with all of my heart, but there is something standing between us. I know what it is, and I want to do something about about it. Jer 29:13-14

There is too much of me left in me, too much of my flesh remains that must be removed. Just like the Apostle Paul, “I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find. For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice.” I know exactly what Paul meant when he said, “O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death?. . . I am carnal” just like the Apostle Paul said about himself, and I know that my flesh and carnal nature must be removed. Rom 7:18-19, 24, 14

Lord Jesus, You said, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.” You also said, “For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it.” Please help me understand this. Tell me what to do. Reveal to me how I must “lose” my life for Your sake. This is what I want, what is required of me, what must be done in me, but I don't know how to do it if You don't send Your word to guide me. “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path,” and I trust Your word to guide me in what I must do. I am trusting in Jesus Christ as my Savior, and will follow Him as my Lord with faith that “comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” I understand that Your word will be my guide, and I will follow You by faith as You reveal to me what I must do. Lk 9:23-24, Ps 119:105, Rom 10:17

Father, You said I must deny myself, deny “self.” This is the most glaring and deceptive spiritual issue I have wrestled with all of my life. It is unmistakable because I see it clearly. It is also subtly deceptive because “self” is who I am, who I want to be, who I have become. I am self-oriented. Everything that happens around me, to me, in me, for me, with me, or against me is filtered through my “self” awareness, and is how I see myself being personally affected by the issues of life. My focus is on me, and I see it in my interaction with other people and in the meditations of my heart when I am alone. I dwell on how I am being treated by others- if I am accepted, appreciated or respected. This is the problem I see, Heavenly Father, that You are revealing to me by the light of Your word. Lk 9:23

I view the world around me as circumstances relate to my well-being. I question how life experiences affect my peace of mind, and how I am being treated by others. I am happy if I am being treated fairly and with respect, but find myself sulking over adverse circumstances, thinking that I deserve better treatment. Adversity leads me to frustration. My impatience causes me to become irritable. I do not react well when I am mistreated or disrespected. I don't know how to “love” my “enemies,” and I cannot “bless those who curse” me. I cannot “do good to those who hate” me, or “pray for those who spitefully use” me and “persecute” me. Even though my Lord Jesus Christ has instructed me to do these things, I cannot find it in my heart to respond to adversity this way. For years I have tried to pretend that my carnal nature did not matter and tried to convince myself that my besetting sins were just an expression of my fallen nature and that my soul has been redeemed. Father in heaven, You know that I believe in Jesus Christ as my Savior and Lord, and I want to serve Him, to be faithful and loyal to Him, but I cannot live this kind of self-centered life any longer. Matt 5:44

I search my mind and soul, trying to discover any doubtful habits that do not please You, but many times I rationalize my behavior instead of resisting a questionable act. I try to hide from my secret sins, believing that I will be forgiven, but Father in heaven, I do not want to live this life of self-indulgence. “Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me, and know my anxieties; and see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” Ps 139:23-24

Sometimes I am intimidated by other people and try to hide my faults and limitations from them. I have a deceitful disposition, even to the point of being dishonest with myself. I pretend to be something that I am not, just so others will think more highly of me. I may even exaggerate, needing the approval of others, so I am appreciated and respected. In conversations, when a particular subject is being discussed, I become impatient, itching for the next opportunity to express my opinion. I have a need to be heard and recognized for what I have to say, to be admired by others. Father, I am self-centered, and I ask You to “examine me, O Lord, and prove me; try my mind and my heart.” Deliver me, O Lord, from this self-deception, and “let nothing be done” in me “through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind” help me to “esteem others better than” myself.

Ps 26:2, Phil 2:3

It is hard for me to let go of the past hurts and emotional wounds caused by others. I hold a grudge against them, and it seems impossible for me to forget past grievances and misunderstandings. Father, please help me to forgive those who have hurt me and forget the hurtful things that have grieved my mind and soul. Matt 6:12, 14-15

I am frustrated when disturbances interrupt my sense of peace, and I am annoyed when others are rude and uncaring. I become impatient with those who are not punctual and are inconsiderate of my feelings, and I recognize a condemning spirit in me when I observe rude behavior in others. When my feelings have been hurt and my ego is wounded, I feel sorry for myself even though I know that self-pity is simply a secret, a subtle form of pride. Father, help me “not to think of” myself “more highly than” I “ought to think.” I am aware that I have a spirit of pride. I have a secret yearning to be recognized and admired, and I have a secret desire to make a name for myself. My self-seeking spirit reveals itself within me when things don't go my way. I am unable to accept criticism without seeking retaliation. When I receive correction, even when I am wrong, I sometimes recoil in anger, especially when someone of lesser stature or authority tries to correct me. Resentment rises up in me, and I often retaliate when I am disapproved. My disposition resents being contradicted, and I may respond with hateful, heated words. I become touchy and emotionally sensitive to the slightest provocation or insult. I am easily offended when my assistance and opinions are rejected, or if I am challenged for what I believe. I become defensive and criticize the flaws I see in others, especially if I am unnoticed or overlooked. Father, I admit that I try to build up my ego so I will be admired and respected. Please help me to “bridle” my tongue so that my “own heart” does not deceive me, and teach me to understand that “a soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. The tongue of the wise uses knowledge rightly, but the mouth of fools pours forth foolishness.” Rom 12:3, James 1:26, Prov 15:1-2

Father, You have revealed to me that I am not completely available to You. I am stubborn, and I realize that my strong self-will and feeling of self-sufficiency create in me an unteachable spirit. I can be unyielding with a headstrong disposition, and I become irritable when my plans and purposes are blocked and my interests are not considered important. I want to serve You, and I try to accomplish a work in Your kingdom, but it is always on my terms. I have rushed ahead of You many times, thinking I was fulfilling Your calling; but in the light of Your word, I was not following Your directions or obeying Your instructions. I was pursuing what I thought was Your will. Many times I stepped out in ministry to do a work for You but did not even consult You about it. I just assumed You would bless itbecause it was a work for You, but You were not in it. I have squandered many opportunities and wasted many years pursuing my own dreams. My plans and purposes have interfered with Your calling upon my life, and now I want to make up for my years of mistakes. I understand that “there is a waythat seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death,” death to Your calling on my life, death to Your plans for me, death to the way You have set before me, and death to my service in Your kingdom. From now on, I will trust in You, my Lord, with all my heart, and lean not on my own understanding; in all my ways I will acknowledge You, and You shall direct my paths. Prov 14:12, 3:5-6

Moses spoke to You “face to face,” heavenly Father, “as a man speaks to his friend.” Being in Your presence changed him so dramatically that Your glory shone on “the skin of his face,” causing Aaron and the children of Israel to be “afraid to come near him.” Is it possible for us today to know You like that, to be so intimate in our fellowship with You that we lose ourselves in Your presence? I know there is nothing I can do to earn Your love, because You already love “the world,”and Your love “was manifested toward us” through Jesus Christ our Lord, but I want to know You as my Father. I don't want to be a spiritual orphan any longer, thinking that I have to prove myself to You, to perform for you, to accomplish meritorious goals in order to receive Your affirmation. I wasted many years doing these very things, believing that I needed to earn Your favor and approval, but now I want to be Your Son, having complete liberty to dream, to pursue, to seek and search for anything and everything that You inspire me to do. I have never known this kind of freedom from self, realizing that it's not about me anymore. It's all about You and who I am in Christ Jesus. A life of intimacy with You, O Lord, is a life of supernatural freedom from the guilt of sin, the shame of defeat, the stress of the world, and the tyranny of worry and anxiety. Ex 33:11, 34:29-30, Jn 3:16, 1 Jn 4:9-10

Father in heaven, Your thoughts are not my thoughts, neither are Your ways my ways. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are” Your ways higher than my ways and Your thoughts than my thoughts. For this reason, I ask You to empower and anoint “the mind of Christ” in me to cast “down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,” so that “the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart” will “be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my redeemer.” Please forgive my sins. “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me,” and give me “cleanhands and a pure heart,” so I “may stand in” Your “holy place.” Isaiah 55:8-9, 1 Cor 2:16, 2 Cor 10:5, Ps 19:14, Ps 51:10, Ps 24: 3-4

Your word, O God, is “like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces,” so I ask You to send the authority of Your word and crush the overt sins that You see in me, and send the “fire” of Your word to incinerate my secret, mental attitude sins. Empower the “sword” of Your word to cut away any vestiges of my flesh and sever the carnal nature that is in me, so I can finish my life better than I lived it Jer 23:29, Heb 4:12

“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” I present to you, Holy Father, my body a living sacrifice, to be holy, acceptable to You, my God, which is my reasonable service. I am no longer conformed to this world, being transformed by the renewing of my mind that I may prove “what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Father in heaven, “let this mind be in” me “which was also in Christ Jesus.” It is You who works in me “both to will and to do for” Your “good pleasure.” Gal 2:20, Rom 12:1-2, Phil 2:5, 13

Father in heaven, I pray that You, “the God of peace” Yourself would sanctify me completely, that I would no longer have a mind of my own or the will to follow my own ways, and I pray that my “whole spirit, soul and body be preserved blameless at the coming of” my Lord Jesus Christ. I no longer belong to this world. I am here only to serve You, to love You, to honor You with my life and bring You glory. When I turn my eyes upon You, Lord Jesus, and look full in Your wonderful face, the things of earth grow strangely dim in the light of Your glory and grace. I love you, Lord Jesus. You are the “KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.” 1 Thes 5:23, Rev 19:16

The Days of God

Pro 9:17-18

17 Stolen waters are sweet, And bread eaten in secret is pleasant. 18 But he knoweth not that the dead are there; That her guests are in the depths of Sheol.

In context....

Prov 9:13-16

13 The foolish woman is clamorous; She is simple, and knoweth nothing. 14 And she sitteth at the door of her house, On a seat in the high places of the city, 15 To call to them that pass by, Who go right on their ways: 16 Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither; And as for him that is void of understanding, she saith to him,

7 Days of God

From Adam's creation to Abraham is estimated to be 2000 years

2Pe 3:8

But forget not this one thing, beloved, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

Psa 90:4

For a thousand years in thy sight Are but as yesterday when it is past, And as a watch in the night.

Example 1

Gen 2:16-17

16 And Jehovah God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: 17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

Did Adam die on the day that he ate the fruit?

Gen 5:5

And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died.

Example 2

Hidden in John 7 is a parable.

Celebrating Feast of of Tabernacles

Aka Feast of Ingathering

Aka Feast of Booths

7 day feast in Jerusalem (Lev 23:42)

1 ½ day walk straight through

100+ miles from Galilee to Jerusalem

Actually begin tomorrow 10/2 at sundown

Joh 7:2-10

2 Now the feast of the Jews, the feast of tabernacles, was at hand. 3 His brethren therefore said unto him, Depart hence, and go into Judæa, that thy disciples also may behold thy works which thou doest. 4 For no man doeth anything in secret, and himself seeketh to be known openly. If thou doest these things, manifest thyself to the world. 5 For even his brethren did not believe on him. 6 Jesus therefore saith unto them, My time is not yet come; but your time is always ready. 7 The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that its works are evil. 8 Go ye up unto the feast: I go not up unto this feast; because my time is not yet fulfilled. 9 And having said these things unto them, he abode still in Galilee.

10 But when his brethren were gone up unto the feast, then went he also up, not publicly, but as it were in secret.

*When may have Jesus appeared at this feast?

-Was required to for all males to appear in Jerusalem for this feast. (Exo 23:16-17)

Joh 7:11-14

11 The Jews therefore sought him at the feast, and said, Where is he? 12 And there was much murmuring among the multitudes concerning him: some said, He is a good man; others said, Not so, but he leadeth the multitude astray. 13 Yet no man spake openly of him for fear of the Jews. 14 But when it was now the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught.

-When did Jesus appear openly?

-to be in the middle, midway

Joh 7:15-18

15 The Jews therefore marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned? 16 Jesus therefore answered them and said, My teaching is not mine, but his that sent me. 17 If any man willeth to do his will, he shall know of the teaching, whether it is of God, or whether I speak from myself. 18 He that speaketh from himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh the glory of him that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.

-who does Jesus repeatedly subordinate himself too in front of the crowd?

John 7:19-24

19 Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you doeth the law? Why seek ye to kill me? 20 The multitude answered, Thou hast a demon: who seeketh to kill thee? 21 Jesus answered and said unto them, I did one work, and ye all marvel because thereof. 22 Moses hath given you circumcision (not that it is of Moses, but of the fathers); and on the sabbath ye circumcise a man. 23 If a man receiveth circumcision on the sabbath, that the law of Moses may not be broken; are ye wroth with me, because I made a man every whit whole on the sabbath? 24 Judge not according to appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

Vs 25-29

25 Some therefore of them of Jerusalem said, Is not this he whom they seek to kill? 26 And lo, he speaketh openly, and they say nothing unto him. Can it be that the rulers indeed know that this is the Christ? 27 Howbeit we know this man whence he is: but when the Christ cometh, no one knoweth whence he is. 28 Jesus therefore cried in the temple, teaching and saying, Ye both know me, and know whence I am; and I am not come of myself, but he that sent me is true, whom ye know not. 29 I know him; because I am from him, and he sent me.

-still subordinating himself to the father

-still the middle of the feast

Vs 30-34

30 They sought therefore to take him: and no man laid his hand on him, because his hour was not yet come. 31 But of the multitude many believed on him; and they said, When the Christ shall come, will he do more signs than those which this man hath done? 32 The Pharisees heard the multitude murmuring these things concerning him; and the chief priests and the Pharisees sent officers to take him.

33 Jesus therefore said, Yet a little while am I with you, and I go unto him that sent me. 34 Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, ye cannot come.

-Jesus prophesies his death and that He is be going unto his Father. He says this during the 'midst'

Joh 7:35-39

The Jews therefore said among themselves, Whither will this man go that we shall not find him? will he go unto the Dispersion among the Greeks, and teach the Greeks? 36 What is this word that he said, Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me; and where I am, ye cannot come? 37 Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink. 38He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, from within him shall flow rivers of living water. 39 But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believed on him were to receive: for the Spirit was not yet given; because Jesus was not yet glorified.

-The Jews then prophesy without realizing it. -And of course this is exactly what Jesus did (after His death) through the Spirit via His disciples.

-Jesus speaks about his death and that these will not be able to follow him.

-Why the last day?

-The day of the great Feast??

-Who does Jesus give glory to in this verse??

-Who does Jesus give glory to in this verse??

-Why does he say, 'he that believeth on me as the scripture hath said?'

Notice that Jesus makes a point of saying 'he that believeth on me, AS THE SCRIPTURE HATH SAID' indicating that His goal was to point back to the Word. I think one of His points in saying this is that by the time of his Second Coming, the "Jesus" which is taught in church will be MUCH different than the Jesus of scripture. And many will be led astray or deceived. Yes they will know of Jesus, but just not the one of the Word. This is occuring today.

-Jesus says in John 4:10, 'If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.'

Joh 7:40-44

40 Some of the multitude therefore, when they heard these words, said, This is of a truth the prophet. 41 Others said, This is the Christ. But some said, What, doth the Christ come out of Galilee? 42 Hath not the scripture said that the Christ cometh of the seed of David, and from Bethlehem, the village where David was? 43 So there arose a division in the multitude because of him. 44 And some of them would have taken him; but no man laid hands on him.

Joh 7:45-49

45 The officers therefore came to the chief priests and Pharisees; and they said unto them, Why did ye not bring him? 46 The officers answered, Never man so spake. 47 The Pharisees therefore answered them, Are ye also led astray? 48 Hath any of the rulers believed on him, or of the Pharisees? 49 But this multitude that knoweth not the law are accursed.

Jesus was from Galilee, but unknown to them was that He was born in Bethlehem.

Hos 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee...

I wonder if this is a picture of the multitude in the 'valley of decision' from Joel 3:14. Some believe, some do not. Those that 'dwell on the earth' versus those that 'dwell in the heavens'.

Sadly, most of the religious leaders won't believe in Him during His second coming any more that the Jewish religious leaders did during His first coming.

Joh 7:50-53, 8:1

50 Nicodemus saith unto them (he that came to him before, being one of them), 51 Doth our law judge a man, except it first hear from himself and know what he doeth? 52 They answered and said unto him, Art thou also of Galilee? Search, and see that out of Galilee ariseth no prophet. 53 [And they went every man unto his own house: 1 but Jesus went unto the mount of Olives.

Joh 8:1

****At this point, read the orange verses and begin to reveal the 7000 year principle which is hidden in this chapter.

And just in case you weren't sure, it mentions this throw away verse..."but Jesus went unto the mount of Olives". Or is it? Does it refer to anything related to Jesus' Second Coming?

What about this verse?

Zec 14:4-5

4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east; and the mount of Olives shall be cleft in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.

This occurs during "a day of the Lord" (Zec 14:1) when the Lord shall " go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle." (Zec 14:3)

Which occurs during the Second Coming…

5 And ye shall flee by the valley of my mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azel; yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah; and Jehovah my God shall come, and all the holy ones with thee.
