Two Witnesses/Babylon/Egypt/Earth Dwellers/Dwellers in Heaven

 Two Witnesses

We're going to try and use the two witness ministry to Branch off into different areas to try and explain.

Rev makes a distinction btw those who "dwell on the earth" vs those who "dwell in the heavens" ( Rev 12:12)(Rev 13:6)

Dwell/Tabernacle in the heavens

Rev 13:6

And he opened his mouth for blasphemies against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, even them that dwell (tabernacle) in the heaven.

Rev 12:12

12 Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe for the earth and for the sea: because the devil is gone down unto you, having great wrath, knowing that he hath but a short time.

Dwell on the earth

Rev 11:10

10 And they that dwell on the earth rejoice over them, and make merry; and they shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwell on the earth.

***Two prophets dwell (TABERNACLE) in the heaven

Jesus' words on those that dwell on the earth

Luk 21:34-35

34 But take heed to yourselves, lest haply your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that day come on you suddenly as a snare: 35 for so shall it come upon all them that dwell on the face of all the earth.

overcharged with surfeiting - (weighed down/burdened w giddiness and headache caused by drunkenness)

overcharged with drunkenness - (weighed down/burdened w intoxication)

cares of this life - (anxiety/cares w the idea of distraction)

what day? 7th day, or 3rd day

as a snare? Trap

**Spoken to those whom called Jesus 'teacher' in vs 7.

**Jesus speaks spiritually. If not, than water into wine in John 2 would be a major mistake.

***Here we are day 7, many of God's people aren't realizing the time, don't recognize the trap and aren't ready.

Ecc 9:12

For man also knoweth not his time: as the fishes that are taken in an evil net, and as the birds that are caught in the snare, even so are the sons of men snared in an evil time, when it falleth suddenly upon them.

***Wonder if Jesus was thinking of this verse when he spoke Luke 21:34-35?

***Quiz***

Notice the patterns of it in Isaiah 24. When you hear it, mention it.***

3rd/7th Day

revive and raise us up

flesh is burnt off (dead body)

somehow we lay down works of the flesh in/on the 7th day

seems to be for those looking for him

Esther put on royal apparel on 7th day

eastern gate in INNER court is opened (Eze 46:1) is opened on 7th day

burns as a furnace

distress upon men

Jesus' appearance is transformed/metamorphasized

Isa 24:12-20

12 In the city is left desolation, and the gate is smitten with destruction.

Jerusalem - God's people (Matt 23:38, Rev 17:16, Rev 18:19)

13 For thus shall it be in the midst of the earth among the peoples, as the shaking of an olive-tree, as the gleanings when the vintage is done.

Shaking

Unripe figs - Rev 6:13

14 These shall lift up their voice, they shall shout; for the majesty of Jehovah they cry aloud from the sea.

Guess these are those that were looking for Jesus 2nd coming, watching. Heb 9:28

15 Wherefore glorify ye Jehovah in the east, even the name of Jehovah, the God of Israel, in the isles of the sea.

East? Those that see the sun in the inner court rising in the east. (Ez 46:1)

16 From the uttermost part of the earth have we heard songs: Glory to the righteous. But I said, I pine away, I pine away, woe is me! the treacherous have dealt treacherously; yea, the treacherous have dealt very treacherously.

I pine away (2x's) (thinness, leanness)

Woe - we learn about. Babylon/Egypt

Treacherous (2x's) (Jer 3:20-21)

***Note the distinction btw the "righteous" and the "treacherous". Both are "wives". One dealt deceitfully.

17 Fear, and the pit, and the snare, are upon thee, O inhabitant of the earth.

Earth dwellers, fear, snare

18 And it shall come to pass, that he who fleeth from the noise of the fear shall fall into the pit; and he that cometh up out of the midst of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for the windows on high are opened, and the foundations of the earth tremble.

Great destruction on the land, on God's wayward people, on everyone.

Windows of heaven are open on day 7 (Ez 46:1).

Great shakings.

19 The earth is utterly broken, the earth is rent asunder, the earth is shaken violently.

Shaken. Everything that can be shaken will be shaken. Heb 12:27-28

20 The earth shall stagger like a drunken man, and shall sway to and fro like a hammock; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it, and it shall fall, and not rise again.

Drunken man is an "earth dweller"

"Earth" is a metaphor for Babylon/Egypt.

Hammock - Isa 1:8-9 And the daughter of Zion is left as a booth in a vineyard, as a lodge in a garden of cucumbers, as a besieged city. 9Except Jehovah of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, we should have been like unto Gomorrah.

This passage is ALL about the state of God's people before Jesus comes. His remnant is VERY SMALL, the rest of His people have been devastated.

Babylon: Spiritually called Egypt/Sodom

***Comparison btw the two parties in Is 24 vs Rev 11.

Rev 11:8

And their dead bodies (of the two witnesses) lie (because they are killed) in the street of the great city (Babylon), which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified.

-Those that "dwell on the earth" seem to live in Babylon (which is spiritually called Sodom and Egypt) Rev 11:10) :

Rev 11:10

And they that dwell on the earth rejoice over them (the death of the two witnesses), and make merry…

The "Thomas's vs Two Witnesses"

Was Jesus crucified in Babylon? Yes spiritually speaking, not naturally speaking.

Rev 18:4

And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come forth, my people, out of her, that ye have no fellowship with her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues:

Why do Jesus tell his people to "come forth, my people, out of her"?

I'm guessing we are born in Babylon (so to speak) and when Jesus gives us "eyes to see" the abomination of desolation in the "holy place", we are to flee into the mountains. (Matt 24:15-18)

Rev 18:2

And he cried with a mighty voice, saying, Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great, and is become a habitation of demons, and a hold of every unclean spirit, and a hold of every unclean and hateful bird.

-think of Jesus parable in Luke 13:19, "birds of the heavens lodged in the branches thereof".

Rev 18:10-11

10 standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Woe, woe, the great city, Babylon, the strong city! for in one hour is thy judgment come. 11 And the merchants of the earth weep and mourn over her, for no man buyeth their merchandise any more;

Woe, woe (2x's) - Rev 18:10,16, 19 - Babylon

Woe, woe, woe - Rev 8:13 - Those that dwell on the earth

***Remember "woe is me" from Is 24:16, identifying the leanness from the treacherous is from Babylon/earth dwellers/Egypt.

***Why do the merchants of the earth weep and mourn?

-because Jesus/HS is bought and sold within her amongst other things

Rev 18:13

and cinnamon, and spice, and incense, and ointment, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and cattle, and sheep; and merchandise of horses and chariots and slaves; and souls of men.

Back to Rev 11:8

And their dead bodies (of the two witnesses) lie (because they are killed) in the street of the great city (Babylon), which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified.

***Was Jesus crucified in Babylon?

So both Babylon=Egypt and/or Sodom

Example of Egypt as Babylon.

Isa 31:1-3

1 Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help, and rely on horses, and trust in chariots because they are many, and in horsemen because they are very strong, but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek Jehovah! 2 Yet he also is wise, and will bring evil, and will not call back his words, but will arise against the house of the evil-doers, and against the help of them that work iniquity. 3 Now the Egyptians are men, and not God; and their horses flesh, and not spirit: and when Jehovah shall stretch out his hand, both he that helpeth shall stumble, and he that is helped shall fall, and they all shall be consumed together.

-So, Babylon/Egypt doesn't really trust God or walk in faith. They don't need to. They say they do, but rely on the arm of the flesh.

*Whose might/strength does Egypt/Babylon use or rely on?

-their own

-is this honoring to God? Remember, these are God's people

Zec 4:6

Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of Jehovah unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, saith Jehovah of hosts.

Zec 4:7

Who art thou, O great mountain? (think: great city) before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain; and he shall bring forth the top stone with shoutings of Grace, grace, unto it.

-Zerubbabel - descended from Babylon

-God considers them "earth dwellers" in Rev.

-when God stretches forth His hand, both the Egyptian and the Israelite who relies on the Egyptian shall fall.
